I have a 2005 Ram 2500, 4x4, quad cab, diesel, and want to put in a 3200 lb. slide-in camper. Dealer tells me the payload max is 2360 lbs, but I am also told that with air suspension and a sway bar behind the rear axle, the truck can handle it. Any experience with such a modification?

Being able to handle it and being legal are two very different things
Your truck is about the same as my girlfriends
GVWR is 9k lbs
3200lbs seems like it would be pushing it to me
Thats 3200 lbs plus all of your gear, fuel and any one else you might be taking with you
Idk what these trucks actually weigh, ive heard anywhere for 6,500-7,500 and some even higher then that

I've snuck a little over 3,000 into the back of my truck, but that was for a 10 mile drive.
