Default 545rfe transmission questions
The transmission in my truck might be going out. Curious to know if the 545rfe went through any revisions or if I need to be aware of any compatibility issues if I get a used one from a different model/year?

I saw a post where someone had claimed the 4x4 models had additional clutch plates. I find that odd, but can someone confirm. Normally I due a bit more due dilegence on my part before asking questions, but I am on another project...fixing a h.g, and some other maintenance on my gf honda civic.

Thanks in advance
-Jason

Subscribed. I'm in the same boat looking for a junkyard special to build and install.

There's no difference between 2wd and 4wd internally, the difference is the 2wd gets a tailshaft and the 4wd gets an adapter to bolt the transfer case to. You can use any 545 from 2003 to 2010.
usaf2006, aheeejd and MarkV like this.
