Tires for towing?

So I am just checking to make sure my tires are good. Currently running toyo open country at2. The size reads as follows P265/70r17. Side wall it's "standard load" stamped on it. Sidewalk also indicates max load of 2535lbs. I have a 6200lbs 2axle trailer. My question is, are these tires safe to tow with? Or should I be looking to get new tires?

Those are safe to use. When you tow I'd run the max air pressure that is stamped on tire.

I always upgrade my truck to light truck tires (LT). My truck is for business and most of it's work is towing. If you tow much its worth the change.
6200 lb axle is not necessarily what you are towing, What does your trailer weigh loaded?

Even with de-rating the tire for using a P-metric on a truck, the two tires combined weight rating exceed the GAWR.
Unless you tow a lot or go off road with your trailer, the tires should be fine.

There is some bad advise here. A "P" or "Passenger" series tire is meant to maintain contact patch with the pavement and provide a more comfortable ride, (meaning the sidewall will flex more than with an LT tire. There are a lot of additional forces applied to your truck when towing. Control can be lost when you have to much side wall flex. If your trailer is light and has a low profile (Shorter than than the CG of truck) your margin is greater, but the safe bet is to tow on "LT" tires. You can get "LT" tires in different load ratings depending on your load. The load rating between a "P" and the "LT" could be the same but the side wall strength and how they react in maneuvering will be different.
