I just recently purchased a 24' tag along camper. When I pulled it home the trans temp light came on. Well I let my parents take the camper and my truck out this weekend and they said it pulled just fine and the temp light never came on. Well I picked the camper up, about half way home the trans light came back on. I have used this same truck to pull my old 5th wheel camper and never had an issue. The roads are a lot steeper with a lot of hills where I live compared to my parents. The only difference other than the terrain was I used the A/C and he did not. I also had the trans rebuilt about 14 months ago, in order to have a warranty on the trans I had to buy an external cooler so I did. Would the trans cooler be to small? It's only about 8"x8" maybe just a tad bigger. Also I know the cooler would be hot but when the light came on i pulled over and the cooler was so hot I couldn't even get close enough to touch it. The cooler that was put on was by the garage, I did not pick it out or have any input on it. The truck is a 2000 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 360. Thanks for any advice.
