Stay far far away from those, you need a programer. Those are empty plastic boxes with a fake wire in it... they are a joke.

Edge is actualy pretty dang good, Smarty and EFI live is where its at for the newer ones. They may have older systems for the older trucks.

I'm currently running a Edge Comp and enough power to the work I need... I enjoy the Edge Comp because it got no bells or whistles to the box to limit power. It all up to me...

But before you even think about adding any box to the truck take care for your lift pump first thing... Dodge fuel system are weak at best..

Michael is correct , fuel system first . And always put a gauge on it so you can monitor the PSI . And always keep a extra fuel filter in the truck !

More junk... Sorry... If you not spending at least $400 to $600 bucks it not a quality unit and shouldn't be trusted. You basically buy china's junk products which may do more damage to your truck than the mod is worth. (Failed ECM, VP44 failure, etc.) This are $1000 dollar items I won't trust to a $129 module...

Now your talk a quality unit that gives good performance without tearing up your expensive engine and electroincs...

1994-1998 CTD's "12 valve" do not have the ability to be tuned via electronics/chips. These trucks are tuned mechanically through AFC springs, fuel plates, etc.

If you are a 12v and looking for power , look into bigger injectors , better turbo , bigger exhaust .. ect .

As you will find performance mods on a CTD are not cheap but well worth the investment .

I would like to improve only a little performance .
If the chip is useless. if I put an air filter, intake manifolds and an exhaust .I could improve the performance?

I thought something like this
S&B Cold Air Intake 1994-2002 Dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins (Dry Filter) 75-5044D | eBay
CFM+ 94-98 Dodge Cummins 5.9L Diesel Red Intake Manifold 44% Air Flow Increase | eBay
and
MBRP 4" Turbo Back Exhaust 94-02 Dodge Cummins 5.9L | eBay
or
DIAMOND EYE 5" EXHAUST 94-02 DODGE CUMMINS NO MUFFLER | eBay
what is the difference between 4 "and 5" exhaust .
I'll settle for just a little to improve the performance of the vehicle
thanks guys

Dave beat me to it, 12 valves don't have anything computer related to tune really
The mbrp and diamond eyes exhaust are cheap but they are ok exhaust. They will only last 2-3 years, give or take depending on weather conditions and if the use salt etc
It will definitely help your truck out, I can't renember if your stock exhaust is 3" or 3.5"
I personally dont really like the sound of 5" exhaust but its just me. You need 5" if your planning over 500hp
Check out farm boy diesel they have some inexpensive exhaust kits and other accessories and are better to deal Wwith then eBay

Gauges are also inportant
Your truck does have an OBDII so you can get something like the bulky dog watch dog

There are some other wierd odds and ends to get a little more power from your 12v too
Tune your fuel pump http://dieseldatabase.com/turning-up-a-p7100-pump/?id=58
Might have to do an AFC mod then, fuel plates will help And a new governor spring will really help(your truck starts defueling at 2200 rpm I think 4000RPM GSK Governor Spring Kit with Heavy Duty Valve Springs 5.9L 12 Valve Cummins)

Post what you are looking for here ..

Xtreme Diesel Performance - DODGE RAM FORUM - Dodge Truck Forums

They are our CTD vendor and have big discounts for members of RF and also are running x-mas sales .

Post there what you want to do and they will give you options .

Thanks Dave!

Stefano, If your profile info matches your truck there isn't really any "Performance Modules / Chips" for you. It's because your truck is mechanically controlled. Don't let that stop you though many look for the 12-Valve trucks due to their reliability and the ease of making power.

You might want to start off with something like this fuel plate:
BD-Power P7100 Fuel Stop Plate

It basically changes the fueling profile in the truck allowing for more power on the top and bottom end. Let me know if you need help choosing the power level.

Secondly, a full 4-inch exhaust system will really open things up to increase flow. Xtreme Diesel Performance - XDP Diesel Power Performance Parts - Exhaust Systems We have full systems ranging from $275 all the way on up.

Also, An intake system like the S&B you already picked out would be a good choice as well.

Dodge Cummins 5.9L 94-02 Diesel Performance Air Intake Systems

Stefano, One of the only questions I have is that I see you are located in Italy? Was the truck imported by you from the states? I'm assuming everything should be the same. However, I do know we've ran into a few quirks here and there with international vehicles.

Unfortunately, I don't have a way to ship out of North America let me know if you're interested in anything and I'll see what we can work out.

Mods: if it wasn't okay to post those links just delete them and I will PM the OP.
