i have been noticing lately that it takes more rpm to light my turbo. it is real doggy empty and i have to build about 1900 rpm to light the turbo. when towing i have plenty of power to get rollling but empty i really have to keep the rpm up to stay in the power. wondering what yall's opinions are.

Sounds like a fuel problem . Do you have a stock lift pump ? I would guess here that somewhere you are starving for fuel . When was the last time the fuel filter was changed ?

Also could be bad injectors , but seen you have RV275's ordered .

vp44 has about 15k, ADII 165 for lift pump with 8k, 20 at idle 17 at wot. just adjustd valves to i .008 ex .017. this helped a little but not much. rv 275"s are in route and we will see what that does when i get them installed. when i get home i am going to pressurize the intake system and see if i might have a leak somewhere. i can still hit 32# but its slow getting there

I would guess that your new injectors will fix the issue . Sounds to me like one or more of your injectors went bad .

But I am not a expert . I am hoping MoparMan chimes in

i did have fuel problem hauling my 5th wheel over the blueridge mountains last monday and got diesel fuel in the engine oil. noticed that when i fueled up just shy of my destination. so there is definately a leaky injector or more. i drained all my oil and replaced it and it is holding steady for now. my rig grossed out at 22,700# coming here so she was getting worked really hard. the spooling problem has come on real slow and i am just now noticing how much longer it takes to spool than it used to. lets hope the injectors make a differance, but if you think of anything else i am all ears.

Geez...

Well if fuel pressure and fuel supply is good then start looking to setting of mods (Banks stuff). If that is all hooked up and adjusted properly then you look toward drag.

Now drag can appear in higher than normal EGT's or higher than normal boost. Like for example my truck solo I cruise at about 2-3 PSI of boost and 550-600*F EGT's at 55 MPH but now hitch up the trailer and that all changes from drag of the trailer now its 8-12 PSI of boost and 800-950*F EGT's. So its a matter of finding drag problems.

Like brake drag. Drive the vehicle a distance and try to come to a stop without using your brakes and then carefully touching the rotors and drum checking for excessive heat. (Be careful not to get burned!)

i dont think it is the braakes. i still have the oe rears and seem to get 70kto75k out of my fronts. i am on the 4th set, but iwill check it out.
thinking outloud here. is it possible for the waste gate to be slightly open and the increasing pressure close it until the waste gate opens it again?

boost and egt's are close to what you are seeing though when towiing my egts are about 100* cooler. i pullled some 3% grades in 6th gear and olny saw about
1000*. for part of that trip my however the air line from the waste gate had blown off the compressor. i never really notice any power loss and the max boost i could make was still 32#. i am sure that would skew the readings i was seeing. that problem has been fixed.

get out that swatter the, fly is off the wall.

Hmmm... Might be a good time to look at the injectors then...

Too bad both of you live to far from me... I change injectors for fun... Just supply beer and tunes and I'll change injectors...
