that would be no problem. i have looked it over a dozen times and it just does not look that difficult. i adusted my vales last weekend and it was a breeze. i have already taken all the stuff of thats in the way before when i did my vp that to was pretty easy. #6 will be a pain to reach but so were the valves. i hope the coolant leak turns out to be something simple, like very old hoses. i ran it pretty hard across tennessee friday.

If I have too I'll go out and pull #1 and reinstall it... Video record the whole thing from start to finish...

all right i made it to my daughters house and make the swap. just before i arrived i developed a coolant leak. i will save that for a nother story though.

the swap was very uneventful. it went like clockwork. disassembly and reassembly of all the stuff thatis in the way took up the most time. swapping of the injectors is the least time consuming of the whole process. pop one out and pop one in. just be sure to pull the cross over tube before you try and pull the injector(dont laugh to hard Mikey).

the coolant leak got in the way of really seeing any differance the injectors have made, but ihave 30 mile trip in front of me tomorrow to put them to the test. i will report back tommorow.

it aint nothing to be afraid of. fairly simple. it all looks complicated untill you just do it.

well i made my 300 mile trip back. truck ran good. i could feel the extra power. not overwhelming but there none the less. it seemed to spool a little quicker, but somewher in the early part of the trip i went from 30 to 32#psi to 27 at wot and 2500 plus rpm. not sure what is going on with that. no smoke to speak of but this truck has never smoke much at all. usually alittle on the low end until i get ot 1500 or 1600rpm, but you really have to look for it. the rv's seem to have some clatter to them. i adjusted my valves last weekend and it quieted the engine down some, but it seems to be back where it was before. it could just be my ears. idle rpm is down to 775 on the tack, it used to read near 850. it sounds the same but the tach is reading lower and when i idle in 3rd i am only running 9 mph instead of 10 mph. i gota check that again tommorow.

the boost is bugging me though. this has happened before recently, i thought the injectors might be the problem though. i think the next time i get home and have time i going to take the turbo off and check everything out real good. my oil return line is leaking a little where it bolts to the turbo. maybe my waste gate is hanging up. dont know.

i ll check fuel milage later, looks prety good so far just reading the gauge, but i would not want to bank on that. if any body has any input on the differances i am seeing its all welcome.

dont get me wrong dave, there is extra power there and i am not dissapointed. ther is just another problem that needs to be found. i would not be suprised if i drive it tommorow and the boost is back. like i said it has happened before. could be a sticky waste gate or a boost leak somewhere. hope to find out soon, i just need the time check it out. dont let this stop you from your mods. the injectors were interesting and fun to install.

i believe i read a write up by m1973mn over on his sight. i dont remember now. i spoke tohim about it a couple times also. when i adjusted the valves it was all quite obvious. one small bolt to remove and the hold down slides out and then you just pop out the injector. i used one of the intake manifold bolts to screw into the top of the injector for easier removal. i had a piece of wood on the ex manifold and used it for a folcrom and a piece of copper pipe for a lever. i let the pipe catch on the head of the bolt and pried up on them. suction had the stuck so they do pop out when they come out. of course making sure that you have removed the cross over tube. i had a little trouble with that one.

Remember he's not running a big power module like both of us have... Youve got 180 HP (IIRC) and I'm running 120 HP Edge Comp. So there is goint to be more bounce with us than Dripley...

so if i am reading that right you would get a bigger kick with a better programmer. mine was rated a 75 rwhp from banks

Ramhunter9 got a Quadzilla Adrenaline (150 HP)

I've got a Edge Comp (120 HP)

Both of our modules tap the VP44 so the module has the final say in what the fueling is going to be like and also the final timing curve.

Now for the Banks stuff I'm not sure but if it doesn't tap the pump then basically the module is at the mercy of the ECM and VP44 on final say. So if the ECM/VP44 don't like what its being feed it will simply defuel and/or retard timing to stay within it specs. So these typically have a smaller window of performance vs. a tapped pump module.
