I was going to go with the filter maintenance kit from genos
'03-'07 Dodge Diesel Filter Maintenance Kit - FLEETGUARD-Geno's Garage

but synthetic or non? I am pretty set on rotella, was looking at the 5w40 a lot because it is a lighter weight in the cold so it is easier in the winter. what about 10w30? or does it not matter and just go with 15w40 non synthetic?

Or Rotella T6
Im currently running the T5 which is 10/30.
Walmart is pretty cheap $12 for the T5 and $19 for the T6

Something to think about there is more diesel trucks crossing 1 Million miles on petroleum oils than there is on synthetics.

Fleetguard oil filters and...

I run 15w-40 all the way down to...

I run Rotella 15w40 and change it every 5000 miles and it usually comes out pretty clean except during camping season when I'm towing a lot more. I have sent my oil to BlackStone Labs to get tested and they said I could go another 2000 to 3000 more miles without a problem. I asked them if synthetic was worth the extra money and they said no.

Synthetic has advantages no matter the brand it has a better pour point at low temps. If it was me I would run synthetic but I run synthetic usually Ams in every machine I have. It is way to cold to mess around with a thick Dino oil IMO. I don't own a diesel but I do tow a lot and use it as a working truck not babied.
