It only does it when the engine is lugging the trucks weight when it is creeping along in gear. It wont do it in neutral

so when you say rattle...as in noise or vibration? if it's vibration....it's usually from the torque converter slipping a little bit, that and the drivetrain will shake when lugging under load.

I guess it would be more of a rattle. Cant be the TC because its a G56. My uncle has an 05 dually with the same trans, no rattle iirc.

ah my bad must've missed that. I know the downpipe comes pretty close to the trans crossmember, lugging may twist everything just enough to make contact...it's a long shot but ya never know.

Sounds like an aftermarket clutch to me
Most dual disc clutches are noisy an almost growl/grind when lugged
