I have a 2015 2500 6.7 and I want to delete the def and go cat back straight pipe and cold air intake. What programer do I need to get for this? I don't what to add a lot of hp to where I will start to mess the trans or what not up. I might do a egr delete to. How much safe hp can you add to these trucks?

EFI Live or RaceME are you 2 main options for deletes. Which is best on an otherwise stock truck is largely personal opinion. My truck has tuned by Ray @ DoubleRDiesel.com for almost 3 years (40,000 miles) and have never had an issue. I typically run the 60hp tune during camping season and the 90 or 120 hp tune through the rest of the year.

EFI Live program (engine and trans tunes),
Edge CTS-2 InSight tuner with Cummins unlock,
VIN license for EFI Live tune,
Cummins tuning switch,
EGR & Cooler delete,
Throttle valve delete,
4" or 5" exhaust system (straight pipe or with muffler - lots of folks try the delete with the straight pipe kit and the stock muffler, then swap out the muffler later for a sound change)
EGT probe kit

Optional but it helps a lot - S&B Cold Air Intake

You will add more than what is safe for the transmission if you run it on HIGH all the time and some tuners packages are done differently. Some will build in all you want but you have to realize that's not a good deal for your powertrain.

A conservative estimate is you'll wanna be around 120HP maxed out for most tunes available on a stock transmission & lift pump. From there, you can bump it up but you do so at risk of having to rebuild the transmission and replace a lift pump and possibly injectors somewhere down the road.

When? Depends on how you drive the truck.

Im about to bring back and old post, but oh well..

Maddog, I have $1000 to spend. Im assuming all of what you recommend costs closer to $2000 is there anything I can do with out for now? Maybe theres another route I can go to stay right around $1000? Thanks. I orignally was going to do a full delete with tranns bracing and oil pan, but that was before my bank told me I couldnt cash in my warrenty. lol
