Hey Moe's,
I had rear exhaust manifold bolts break off and instead of just buying the hardward to fix it, I was thinking about just throwing on some direct fit Shortys.
My truck is an 06 4x4 Hemi, it has 122k miles, so I was thinking about the chrome BBK opposed to the ceramics. I figure if I get another 100k out of the truck, I'll be happy. So the chromes, I am thinking, will get me there without rusting out. Do you agree? Or should I spring for ceramics?
Also:
Is it advisable to buy Mopar gaskets?
Is it advisable to get this tuned afterwards?
I have oversize tires, and if I get 11 mpg, I am doing pretty good. Will headers help mpg since the engine works harder to turn these tires?
For an extra 8-10 horse power boost, not really interested in sinking a bunch of $$$ into the hop-ups. It's my personal truck and sometime I use it to pull 8,000# loaded lanscaping trailers.
Besides the tires, my truck is 100% stock.
Thanks in advance!
