Installing a Moe's 85mm TB HELP.

I just got a vararam and a 85mm and wanted to know if I need to replace the base gasket or reuse the old one. No one has one in stock and dodge says reuse the old one. Just double checking.

Yes reuse it unless it is damaged

I have never even had that gasket move on us while installing a TB, nor have I seen 1 that was damaged. I'm assuming that is why the dealership doesn't even keep them in stock. It is very rare that you would ever have to replace that gasket.

I agree. I just changed mine a few days ago. It didn't move. I thought it was just a nylon ring type that sat in a grove. Didn't pay much attention to it.

I was surprised how little force it took to undo. I put mine back on with close to the same amount. Just in case it was an alloy or plastic housing. I didn't want to warp or strip anything.

Yep. The intake manifold is plastic, so it is very easy to strip if you over tighten the TB bolts. Hand tight is usually plenty.

Ok so I got the tb no biggie. And the vararam is not hard however. Does this look right. It doesn't look like this is gonna sill around the back.

The intake is almost an inch lower than the weather strip. Is that normal? All pictures say no.

And I don't have a body lift.

I don't know if the sport hood makes a difference or not but just making sure.

If the intake is tilted slightly to the back, then that could be causing it not to line up properly back there. Try putting a small amount of chalk on the back weatherstripping and then close the hood. You should be able to tell if it makes contact with the liner with the hood closed.

If need be, we have a longer coupler here that we can send you, but the one you have should seal up fine once the hood is closed.

I don't know yet if it is sealed or not but holy **** does it make power. The vararam and moes intake is a good combo. Can't wait for my ds tuner npw
