Can anyone give me some insight on the install of my Bakflip G2...seems like its sitting way too high, wondering if the rubber on the outer edge just needs to settle to cover the gap or if the installation is incorrect...

It looks like you need to re-install the rails. You should have someone push down on the rails while you tighten the C-Clamps. Also please make sure that the C-clamps are up under the rails as far as they can be. I usually start with the center clamp 1st and then do the ends after the center is set.

Good Luck!

Just a thought... Your clamps that hold down the rails to the bed maybe too high. Does each section lock into place when you close the cover? My fibermax doesn't have the gap you have in the picture. The seal around the edge bends down a little on mine so maybe settle a little.

I have no experience with this cover, but it does look like it is sitting high. Even if the rubber on the outer edge did "droop" to cover it, it would look odd to me. I can't imagine that's how it is supposed to be?

Definitely looks like your rails are off. The rubber edges will settle but not enough based on what I see in your pics. Mine sits pretty much flush with the sides of the bed. I'd post pics but trucks in the shop still.

Definitely looks like the rails were not pushed all the way down before clamping.

adjusted the rails and it definitely looks alot better, just have to wait for the sides to settle, or I might hit them with a heat gun this weekend.

Any new photos? Did it lay down after it warmed up?
