Benny is there a part number for a standard cab black headliner?

I have not seen any come out from the factory and do not know if RAM will ever make one

Benny - would it be possible for me to PM you my VIN and could you help me determine the right headliner?

I hate to admit it, but I've got more money than time at the moment...so recovering mine isn't in the picture for quite some time.

Thanks!

Sure I can help with the part number

So I definitely want to change my whole interior to black so it all matches. I've read through this whole thread. Has anyone got any pics of their changes they have made?

Regarding some of the smaller pieces, do yall think plastidip would hold up?

Sure - here's some pics from my install (today)! Ignore the missing roof speaker grilles and grey coat hooks - I forgot to order them!

It's hard to get a good picture in a white garage, with a white truck, with a black interior, and not have the pic washed out! Oh well - you'll get the idea.

Part of the reason it has taken me so long is that I am swapping out the backlighting LEDs as well:

Benny - could you let me know the P/N for the roof speaker grilles? In black, of course! :)

Thanks!

I got an email from Mike D saying these are discontinued?

As strange as this is Mopar has deemed it discontinued although the parts age is only 3 years. I have a feeling this is an error as they will need to service current production vehicles. This is going to take some time but let me send an inquiry into mopar to see what they say.

FYI...to anyone upgrading the dome light to the LED one: apparently there is something in the dome light circuitry that is operated differently on the LED trucks.

Since installing the LED dome light in my 2012, it kills the battery daily. It took me a few days to figure it out, but it wakes up the radio and communications (bus) about once a minute. I assume that the comms bus monitors the dome light circuit as a method to determine if a door is opened, because the stereo makes the same noise (small amp turn on noise and HDD wakeup) if I open a door.

This would pull about 2amps when I tested parasitic draw. Remove fuse M12 (30a), and the truck was fine, no radio, but no dead battery either.

Remove the rear dome light, replace fuse M12, and the comms bus only wakes up when the door is opened, or ignition is turned on - like it should be.

Perhaps someone smarter than me could tell me what resistor to wire in line with the 2016 LED domelight to prevent this from happening. If not, I'll just paint or dye the 2012 housing.

Looks great! Was it hard to swap out the headliner? I have a 2017 RAM sport and part of my interior is dark and the other part is tan.

I know what you mean. I'm not a fan of the tan either. For the life of me I don't know why it's not all one color; black or tan.

The actual swap - easy peasy. Getting it out of the truck? Well...that wasn't fun.

Per the service manual, the headliner is removable through the passenger front door if you remove the front seats and center console.

I looked at it and thought 'no way.' My windshield had a rock chip right in my line of sight, and this was the perfect excuse. I took all the light grey interior pieces out, dropped the headliner, and had Safelite remove the front windshield. While it was out, I pulled out the old headliner, put in the new, and they installed the new windshield.

$300 later - I had a nice black headliner and a nice clear windshield!

Other methods ?

What was plan b, c, or d if you didn't have a rock chip?
I am asking because I want to switch out my headliner but I do not have a rock chip on my windshield.
(I am not asking to be a jerk).

i squeezed mine out the passenger side door. You'll probably need to take the seat out though. Its like those baby games where you have to fit the shapes through the holes hahah
