I have a 1986 dodge ram w250 4x4. Will the exhaust manifolds from a 60s model truck work on my truck?

I'm sorry. I'm new to the dodge truck. I don't understand LA and all others. I just need to know will they fit or not? Or can you explain a little better.I've tried to look it up on the internet. You just can't get answers like you used to.

what year manifolds are you hoping to use? they started using the LA engine in 64 so there is a small chance they might work but it should really not be too hard to track down some manifolds for it. any 72-91 ram truck or van with a 318/360 should have manifolds that fit. they are also interchangeable between left and right so it really don't matter which side you get them off.

To add confusion they were still running the Poly in 66. So you do need to know what engine your gleeming parts off of.

The Poly engine ran from 1955-1966/67.
The LA engine ran from 1964-2002/2003.

A lot of parts interchange between the 1962 to 1966 polyspherical A 318 engine and the LA series of Mopar motors (318, 273, 340, 360), including:
Thermostat
Thermostat housing
Internally balanced 273-318-340 harmonic balancers
Valve springs, retainers and keepers
Main bearings (NOT 360 though)
Rod bearings
Crankshafts (reground 360's included)
Flywheel
Starter, both standard and high torque
318 LA ring set
timing chain and sprocket
fuel pump
oil pump
oil pan (not 360) “The 360 front and rear seal/front timing cover is bigger than those of the 273/318LA/340 to accommodate the larger main bearings.”
distributor pump drive gear
distributor, standard points or electronic

that is why i asked what year truck he is wanting to take the manifolds off of.

if it was my vehicle i would just find the right manifold. they used the same parts for 20 years and it is not a super common part to fail so they are easy to find. i got 3 spares even tho i will probably never used them.

Any junkyard will have many sets that will work.
