I just replaced my alternator on my '85 D100 Custom 318. There are 2 wires that clip on and 1 that tightens down with a nut. I didn't look at which color clipped onto it's proper lead so I took my best guess. I plugged the yellow on the left (looking from the front of the truck towards the back) and the red on the right. That got me home but today it wouldn't start. I flip-flopped the wires and it fired right up but if I mash the gas while driving it bogs down and doesn't wanna go anywhere. All the wiring diagrams I see show a green and blue wire but I have yellow and red. What gives?
