hello all, I usually hang out over on the 4th gen forum but I'm getting ready to tear into an old 1977 d100. It has no gas tank, the original owner put some makeshift tank behind the rear axle and cut a hole behind the wheel arch for the filler neck. I'd like to put the tank and filler back to where it belongs. I can't seem to find any resources for a gas tank and all the pick-n-pulls puncture their fuel tanks to drain them.
So finally, the question is are there any resources to order a gas tank? or a cross compatible tank? I can get some d150 parts trucks around me for about $1000 but that's a bit expensive just for the tank since my 77 is mostly serviceable.
I know I've seen a thread on putting a ramcharger tank behind the rear axle but would consider that as last option.
