Not sure which forum heading this goes under but since I own a 4th gen, here goes.

After years of 'no I don't need it', finally pulled the trigger since opportunity knocked.

1972 D100 stepside and a 1978 d100 short bed. I've always been a huge fan of the body style with a stepside. a clean lil red express or midnight express is out of my budget so that will never happen. next best, build a comparable "clone".

the 78 has a almost perfect frame and cab. 72 has a near perfect rebuilt 360 with a clean stepside bed. The two will be combined into one nice stepside. all for less than $2500. as excited as when I got my new 1500. maybe more.

should pick both up by latest this sunday. will post pics as soon as I get some taken!

Nice! I had both an 86 and 93 I always wanted to find a 72-93 to build for the same kind of money nothing for performance or collectability just a good driver Particularly a 70's adventurer stepside. but they're all non existant here anymore looking forward to the pics

I love that style too. Here is my modded 76 posing next to my fish.

Pics of the siblings or it didn't happen. Where are you (Profile says CA) and what are your plans for the leftovers seeing I know some people looking for a semi-complete project.

Also, open up a build in the 1st-Gen section. I know the section title says "1981..." but everyone there knows what's what. :D

so late tonite, got my stepside parts truck unloaded. the titled project truck gets here Monday.

here's some late nite pics. will get better ones when there's some sun

it's got all 4 original rims and dog dish hub caps, thinking I might keep that look!

Surprisingly all of the bed metal slats for the rotted away wood are all there too.

and the little passenger side fender pentastar diamond emblem!

I'm in Sacramento. Not sure my left overs will be of much use. the stepside is not titled. I have the paper work for the seller's lost title but not worth my time since it's my donor vehicle. floor boards are rotted out.

My second yet to arrive d100 is solid and will be titled. If I happen to get a 3rd, I'll let you know.

And since this is my first Mopar restore, any help on parts sources would be helpful. I've only done chevys up til now and you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a chevy parts supplier.

so going to try to pick up my 78 d100 tomorrow. Incidentally, I got a killer deal on a 73 short bed, near intact dash/interior with factory AC that seems to work. quietly brought it home but wife still found out.

So I spent mothers day listening to "so now there's going to be 3 junky trucks sitting in our yard?" probably didn't help I kinda abandoned the last half of mother's day festivities for just one hour (turned into 4) to go pick up the truck.

These are the tests our relationships go through while we make our ways through our lives.... more pics to follow.

She'll get over it.

Just remember, it's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission. :D

Ok, admittedly I'm a bad documenter. I forgot to take a pic of the third truck before covering them up. but here they are. completely boring and unexciting. Once I get a chance to actually do some tearing down, will start a build thread and try to remember to take pics

Funny thing. I had the same guy flat bed my last truck home that I had 2 years ago flat bed my chevelle and el camino. He remembered me and said, "you were on the right track a few years ago. What the hell is this thing, you've derailed completely." So had to pull out the "chevy is like a butt hole, everyone's got one" line.
