I'm considering a 92 D 150 to put my snow plow on, but don't know if I can make it work and the pickup is too far away to go look at without knowing if it is possible to make my plow work.
What I need is the width from the outside to the outside of the frame rails with the front bumper removed. I could also use a photo of the frame so I can see how the spring hangers and other frame pieces are mounted.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

What kind of plow? I had a Meyers on my W250. My cousin totaled the truck, plow mount was fine and plow wasn't on it. I bought a 150 and had to buy one side mount to use it on the 150.If you know the plows #check it against truck plow #'s

both 2wd and 4x4 dodge truck frames are the same width at the front. if they were not they would have to have 2 different bumpers or 2 different sets of bumper brackets which they don't.

But there is a crossmember on the 4x4's that the 2bys do not have.

i still don't see it making a difference. i helped my friend pull a plow mount off his truck and the only issue you might see on a 2wd is the sway bar will need to be removed but most of the time they are broken or removed already. i could maybe even see the struts off the mount needing to be modified to clear the 2wd steering maybe but i don't see it being a huge deal. this mount was also a plow mount that hung below the bumper so might be a bit different

To many years and trucks for me to remember. I do remember my cousin had a plow mount made for his D350 because he couldn't find a bolt on. And that I had to change 1 part on my Meyer to bolt it on the 150. And every bolt broke taking it of my 250.

but in all the years the frame width always stayed the same. plus if he is using a 2wd for plowing it would probably be wise to build custom to try cutting back on the weight a bit. i have been thinking about using the sway bar mounts on my truck to make a light duty plow since there is no other reason for them other than them making great pull points when pulling something.

He did "clod" plowing with it. You know when the ice and snow falls of cars in a parking lot. After sun comes out they fall off and melt some and then re freeze making slippery spots. They'd use it to salt so it made sense to add a plow in front.

I'm guessing the D designation must be for 2 wheel drive trucks, my bad. The one I'm considering is 4x4. I have an old Meyer ST series plow that was originally on a 70 Ford 1/2 ton that I modified to fit a 80 Chevy. Now I'm looking for something newer to put it on and thought this Dodge might be a good option.

The plows are the same just mounting is different. Since you know what plow and what it was on go online or call an old dealer. Meyer use to have good schematic's of their stuff. I'd search and see if it they are still out there.
