Since I'm in the process of starting my own business, I'm gonna need a good, reliable work truck. I don't want to put a lot of miles or wear and tear on my '97.
My grandfathers old '83 prospector has been sitting in a field for a few years since he passed away. I talked to my aunt and she said I could have it if I wanted. I'm goin to look at it Friday and see if I can resurrect it. I'll get some pics up then

The seats and paint were a little rough but it ran good. I'm hoping I can put a fresh battery on it and prime the carb and it'll bust right off lol

Well here's the truck. My wife called it "Project Prospector" when we got done looking at it this morning. I didn't have much time to do anything but take a few pics, so if the weather cooperates, I'll be back out there Friday

I didn't want to move it too far. It's got a flat on the front driver's side. I'm sure the carb is going to need to be rebuilt. Seals and diaphragm are more than likely dry rotted from sitting for so long. I got it started, but it was running really rich even with the fuel turned way down. And yeah, it's got the 318 LA under the hood :D

Its amazing how that blue paint of the stripe has nearly burned off over time. Good luck with it, it should be sweet if you can get it roadworthy again. I almost decided to put my granddad's '79 D150 Adventurer with a 318 2 barrel back on the road before I found my '06. It was in about the same shape that your Prospector is in.
