Thanks. My Dad had this extension made for the pick up camper since it hangs out past the bed. I just need to take the bumper off and swap it for the one that's on there now.

DAMN that thing is in good shape.

Lol, its in better shape than my '06. My wife wants me to rip out the appolstry because is smells a bit, she just doesn't understand.:whymewhyme:

Here's something I noticed the last two times I started it. After it warms up about 5 min or so it just completely dies then when I start it again it runs fine, idles perfectly. If that is something with the carb I did get a rebuild kit, just haven't got to it yet.

that is actually pretty cool add on bumper.

sounds like you just need to thoroughly clean the truck and add your wifes favorite air freshener to the cab and all would be good.

as far as quit running after 5 minute issue can't really help you there. i would possibly thinking that it might be a ballast resister going bad or possibly ignition module. a carb would not just cut out after about 5 minutes of running fine and fire up fine but it probably would not hurt to rebuild the carb. the truck looks like it at least deserves that

It's probably the carpet. lol Make sure the door seals are good. I know the 76 smells a bit better since i ripped the carpet out. :roflsquared:

As for the carb, that sounds like an adjustment issue to me.

Couldn't figure out why my brakes were still soft after bleeding them this weekend. Took a look today and the calipers were on the wrong sides so the bleeder screws were on the bottom not the top. :emotions122:

IMG_20140909_141800569.jpg

Had the day off work today so I fixed that and took it for a drive to the gas station to fill up the tank. The only problem was a mouse nest that flew up to the top of vent when I turned the fan on high. That and the lack of a cup holder??!! Everything else works great, even the cruise control. I think I will have to do something about those springs though lol.

the springs look just fine from here lol. looks good. the only way to clean out your heater box is to cut a hole in it or remove the heater box.

IDK, to me it looks low in the back. When I was growing up We'd call that the Wisconsin lift because people would drive around with a keg of beer in the trunk lol.

So, rip out the carpet, clean out the heater box and install a cup holder....that's not too bad. I'm just glad it's finally drivable.:)

looks like it might be a bit low. i wonder if air bags would lift up the sagging springs.

i got these for my RC. they are cup holders out of a 98 plymouth voyager. i haven't permently mounted them but don't think it would be too hard. think i might possibly just weld it to the seat frame to keep it simple.

Thanks and good to know. Lol, I'll bet in Texas that floor gets really hot.

That works. Back in the day I remember seeing cup holders that were weighted on the sides and straddled that hump for the transmission.

Did you put in that bench seat? Our family owned three Ramchargers and they all had buckets.

since the seat in the ramcharger gets moved a fair bit depending on who is driving i was planning on mounting it to the seat. the cup holder i currently got is only held down buy weight but if i was not so lazy i would glue some hard drive magnets to the bottom. hard drive magnets are super strong.

ya i put the bench seat in when i got tired of having to fix the rusted structure for the bucket seats. i find the bench seat is a bit nicer than the buckets.

Drove it to work today had a lube job and fluid check done for $4.50. Front differential was full and the fluid *** like new, rear was full but fluid was burnt so will be doing the rear diff tomorrow.

Also need to fix the parking brake. I'm pretty sure I've got the shoes adjusted properly, I think the cable is just slack.

I did get the bumper switched. I think it's a little low but I need the tailgate to get it at the right height.

Well yesterday I took out all the carpet and today it smells better already, you were right DD!

IMG_20140921_165346440.jpg

This morning I put an entire container of carpet deoderizer, enough for 600 sqft, on the bench seat and left it there all day before vacuuming it out. You can bet it smells fresh in there now.....we'll see if it lasts.

Found some water on the floor after it rained last night, I think it might be coming from windshield seal and running down behind panel onto the floor.

The airbags are a success but the parking brake still isn't working so back to the drawing board I guess. :Frustrated:

Ahhh, the old windshield seal. Only way to fix that is to take the glass out, which involves removing the entire dash.

And just remember, without the carpet, the cab is a tin can, you will hear EVERYTHING on the road. lol

you can inspect the gasket on the front window but you may want to look at those side triangle windows. i know i see water coming in the ones on my ramcharger when it is raining
