So I've been seeing this white 4x4 Ramcharger parked in front someone's house for quite a while now with a for sale sign, I've stopped on the road an looked but haven't gotten closer than Prob 20ft due to it being behind there fence an having a no trespassing sign. I've prob seen it for the last 8-10months but this past week ive really been thinking about checking it out. Looking for a beach vehicle/beater so it being older an 4x4 fits the criteria. My question is there anything I should look for in particular if I look at this truck? Seems pretty solid an unmolested. Looked to have rust on the doors an other than it being 4x4 that's all I know. Doesnt say the year or anything on the for sale sign on it.

Is the roof removable? Single round, square or dual rectangular headlights?
Look for cracks in the frame around the steering box and shock mounts.

the main thing to look for is rust. rusted out cab supports and structure. it can be a real nightmare repairing rust damage. most things like axles can all be fixed. the axle an most 80's parts are common enough that they are easy to find if you to break something.

So 81 and up. Non removable roof. Either 318 or 360. TF727 or NP435. NP208. Dana 44. Chrysler 9 1/4. Bet it has 3.55/1 gears.
Damn good truck.

My 79. Way not stock.

and 20 some years ago they were way more common. they are getting way more scarce over here in the land of rust. the last one that i looked at for $4k was a pile of junk. ya the guy may have had that into it plus some but you could never get that out of it if you tried parting it out.

Ya. I saw a 78 Bronco the other day. Over $12000 on a car lot. Nice but screw that.

I had a 75 440 Ramcharger, loaded with options. I converted all the trim to a 78?, and painted it black over red garnet pearl metallic two tone. It was beautful. I still have NOS gaskets for the removable roof.
