What all did you order?

Did some sanding work on my 76 today. It's worse than I expected.

Pictures in my build thread.

pretty much everything i wanted/needed except for new spark plugs for the 93. didn't realize it till after i replaced the order. its not like the ones in the 93 are old. i just wanted to try some different plugs. if i can get the heat sheilds off the heads i might use the plugs that i ordered for the 81. i think they are pretty much the same except the older plugs use manly larger spark plugs.

ya. there was lot of stuff i wanted/needed. been getting a bit tired of manually switching my electric fans on when needed. also have to tackle the plenum gasket eventually. i don't know if i will keep the ramcharger but i will most likely keep the engine and transmission.

i don't think it will be too big of a package since a lot of the stuff is pretty small.

i forgot to mention it earlier. i test fitted the 100amp alternator so that i could figure out how big of a belt i needed for it. i would have ordered the parts i needed yesterday if i had know what size belt i needed.

When you get that 100 amp one set up, I'd like to know how everything behaves. That's one of my wanted upgrades on the 76.

it should behave just like any other alternator except now i should have enough power to power everything plus old alternator is kind of dying.

since i ordered parts for the plenum gasket fix i figure i would start cleaning the spare intake a bit better than it was. took some oven cleaner to it and then hosed it off and it came out pretty good. got a bit more work to do to it before it goes on the truck.

i am going to leave it. i am also going to leave the divider and possibly use it to hold my space wasters that i think i might make out of steel.

Can't blame you on leaving the EGR, might **** off the PCM. Space wasters? You making a turtle?

it wouldn't **** in my pcm's cheerio's as long as the egr solenoid tells the computer it is working. don't have to have the solenoid hooked up. i have heard all the open space in the intake can be a bad thing which is why some people fill part of there intake with epoxy. i don't trust myself with epoxy so i am planing on using sheet metal to try filling in some of the extra space.

Gotcha. I know some guys have made turtles on the plenum plates, but that is with the dividerless intakes.

i was also thinking about making one of those. anything to take up a bit more space in the keg.

You might try that first before actually modifying the divider. Less permanent. lol

well i don't plan on modifying the divider. just plan on using it to hold the space fillers.

discovered one of my spark plug wires is arcing where it should not be. going to put a bit more electric tape on it and it should last until my new parts show up. apparently the parts cleared customs while they were in West Valley City, UT but i don't think they will be here until Monday if i am lucky

Started and let it idle. Afterword I moved it.

Hadn't been started or moved since monday and apparently any temperature below 65 the truck doesn't like. Had a lovely cold big block cam lope for a couple minutes. lol
