Bits and pieces I've gathered for my upcoming tach install.

When I pulled the cover on the diff on the 76 I was surprised to find it was fairly clean and the oil didn't stink. lol

I think it might have a lot to do with if they are left out of service for long periods or continually driven. Mine I believe has spent a lot of time out of service. With the work done I believe mine can now be said to be reliable and trip worthy. Of course there is a list of things I want to do with gauges foremost on the list, but nothing pressing.

Backed it out of the garage, towed a Jeep with a dead battery, then parked it back in the garage again. I've still got some work to do before I can park it outside in the elements.

Ah. I was just wondering since I know the 5W40 made my Magnum quieter and smoother.

i think it should make the engine itself quieter overall since RP advertise that their oil is suppose to provide better protection but i guess we will see. the filter is noticeable heavier than a standard oil filter tho.

Yeah. I've heard not many good things about RP as of late tho. I hear it likes to make more sludge than it cleans. lol

hopefully not considering the price tag on the stuff but then again most people seem to like running cheap filters with their expensive oil.

i see it often enough. people spend $50+ on synthetic oil but only $5 on a dino oil filter when they should spend at least $10-$15 for a synthetic oil filter that will filter more out. even if you use cheap oil it is still probably a good idea to run a $10-$15 filter.

i bigger filter don't compensate for a lower quality filter. i also am running the largest filter i know of for my vehicles. the filter is like 2" longer than the one in the parts book for my truck. filters generally all cost about the same so buying a larger better quality filter just makes even more sense.

I picked my truck up after having ARH long tube headers installed yesterday evening/this morning. Everything it great except for the fact the midpipe drops 5+ inches below the cross member. I'm going to have to find out if they sent me a wrong part or ??? because that's not going to fly losing about 1/2 a foot of ground clearance.

Put gas in it, 12.5 gallons for 25 bucks. Lovin' it! :D

Also got 9.45 mpg...which isn't bad considering there was some in town driving while with my girlfriend last night....and I dropped the hammer a couple times on the highway. :D :naughty:
