hi everyone, i have a 89 D250-2wd-3.9v6, and as usual the front sags lower than the rear. i know its supposed to but i would like to be more level. i also plan on swapping in a 440:naughty: soon. now which would be the better spring option for the front to level it out and compensate for the added weight of the big block?- heavy duty or severe duty front springs from moog? (just joined and 1st time post)

i personally wouldn't worry about it as long as your front end sits level from left/right. trucks are not suppose to be level. if you want it to sit level start removing leafs until you got the height in the front that you like and then install air bags in the back to give you back your haul capacity that you would have lost removing leafs.

i though i would also tell you that a 440 or any dodge v8 will not bolt in to were a 3.9 was. the 3.9's used different motor mount brackets. to install a 440 or any v8 you will require a special motor mount extension plate for the drivers side motor mount. they are used on 88-93 2wd's with a v8

if you can find one in a parts truck it would be so much easier than making one. most people that don't know what they are would probably let them go cheap.

If you go to a big block Do a heavier spring in the front The 3.9 springs will not hold it

Here is the Moog springs listed for the 5.9 v8: 7170 is the OEM replacement, 7172 is the HD choice and the 7172s is the severe duty. I do not know if these will work or not. I would think the 440 will be much heavier. Here is a link that will show the price of these springs: http://http://www.moog-suspension-parts.com/. If you need some custom springs made to fit try this company: Coil Spring Specialties 785-437-2025
