Just showing you guys my truck after I finally installed the 3" body lift along with brand new 33" duratracs on 20" factory rims from an 07 ram 1500. The inner fenders had to be rolled a bit to allow for more clearance on my tires when turning. I'm happy with the turn out. Next step is to replace the front bumper with a 2015 silverado ltz chrome bumper with fog lights... since they are so square, it will follow the style of the first gen nicely. Will also be cutting the bottom of the front of the fenders off since the new bumper wraps around the sides. Will post with more progress As I go. Any suggestions would be great as well.
Thanks

Nice! I like that blue I think the added chrome would make it very pretty.

Question
Are you still running the factory steering box and shaft? I'd be curious to see how that old Gen.1 ragjoint holds up turning 20" wheels!

I swapped the stock steering shaft out for a borgesan steering shaft. I didn't change the box though and all seems fine so far.

Good to hear. I went FULL Borgeson on my RC, but it STILL steers like a solid axle, leaf-sprung behemoth.

I thought about rebuilding the front end and using better parts like a borg steering box, but I plan on putting this truck's body on a 3rd Gen 4x4 frame in the spring anyway

My 33s are making a lot of contact with my fender corners. I don't want to risk my brand new tires getting sliced into and going flat. So, I have decided I will have to remove the metal inner fender, then trim the wheel well to make it a bigger opening, all the way around. I will be using the cut and fold method, where you cut slits every inch or so, then fold the flaps that you just created inward, tucking them under the fender on the inside. It won't look perfect, but until I buy new fenders and get them professionally reshaped to accommodate for the big tires, it's worth it.
I am wondering though, since adding about an inch and a half of clearance around the entire wheel well, I will need to make a new inner fender piece. My current ones are metal.. loud, hard to work with, and easy to chip paint off. Would some sort of malleable plastic or rubber be better, lookswise and also to reduce noise from stones kicking up?
The only things I will need to relocate from the inner fender pieces are the windshield washer reservoir, and a fuse box type set up on the driver side, so it's not that daunting of the project.

Here is the progress I have made so far in cutting and folding my driver side fender. Looks ugly right now, but will clean up once I fabricate my own inner fender. Will most likely be made of plastic or some sort of rubber compound. I had to relocate a fuse box, and also grapple most of the ignition wires to the side of the fenders since they can no longer sit on the inner fender (because I removed it). I will now be adding a cross support beam under the battery platform to strengthen it since it used to sit on the inner fender.

Does anyone have a suggestion for making custom inner fenders? Since my wheel well openings are about 1 and 1/2 inches bigger than stock, my stock inner fenders won't line up obviously. I just installed a rubber inner fender. I got a big sheet of rubber from home Depot and cut it so size, then bolted it onto the bottom lip of the wheel well. It looks alright, but since it's not rigid, it has bends and folds in it creating a messy look as you can see in the picture. I am going to start over the inner fender, what do you guys suggest for making a more rigid set up that will look good? (preferably does not require welding)

I have it just zip tied right now since it's not the final product.
