i have heard you can get 91-93 headlight buckets and bolt them to your rad support and cut new holes but finding the buckets can be kind of hard unless you know of a 91-93 truck that is totaled that you can grab parts off of. otherwise i would just search for a 91-93 rad support and everything and just swap it all at once.
depends on what you want. personally i love the look of the 81-85 grilles. i just had to go with a 91-93 grille on my 81 because the rad support that was on my 81 was rotten and i had the 91-93 rad support already from my 91.
the newer grilles are not that nice. they are plastic and usually crack easy and the aftermarket ones don't have dodge stamped on them but since you got an older hood that would probably be ok. the older grilles are made of aluminum and plastic which is nice
What about the, i think the 86 or 87 have about the same grille shell but not the center part. I order the center for my truck but it didn't fit . So what would I need to make it work.
no the grill shell and rad support on the 86-90 trucks is also different. you could swap the whole grille assemblies out but they look silly on the wrong rad support because they move the headlights between 85 and 86. i don't know where you could get the proper stock grille. is your stock grille insert that bad?
