I'm close to purchasing some black rockstar rims for my 84 2wd. I have a leveling kit on it which raised the front up nicely, and also an extra leaf on the rear. It looks like a 4wd. Does anyone know how big of tires will fit on my truck? I would hate to buy some nice ones and find they are rubbing. If I know the maximum size, then I can go from there. Obviously I don't want monster truck tires, but fair sized ones. Anyone have an idea?
Or have bigger tires installed on their 2wd?

Thanks

Any pictures of your truck so we can see what kind of room you've got?

I had been running 265/75 on my 76 2WD...they liked to rub.

These photos don't really do it justice as it was parked on a bit of a crooked hill. But you get the idea of where I'm at for ride height

***these photos are WITHOUT the leveling kit, I just realized. So add about 2.5 inches into the front height

And it looks like you're running 245/75?

think of a 265/75 as a 31x10.50. almost. its kinda big, but might fit.

So a 265/75/R15 tire is the same as a 30 or 31 inch tire? I want mud tires which are wider, what would a 265 mud tire's dimensions be?

Find a tire you want and look up the dimensions. Most are different in some way.

a 265x75x15 is almost the same thing as a 31x10.50x 15. so that size is close to 31 inches tall.

superswamper makes 31x10.50s if your looking for a mud tire to fit. I also think they make a 235 if you want to go that route.
