I suppose this is the right place to post this since I'm looking for tires for my 1st gen truck. I'm simply looking for some cheap, all terrain (nothing too aggressive but nothing wimpy like I have now), & good tires. I want to go with big tires, because I plan on putting a 4"-6" (more than likely 4") suspension lift on my truck a bit in the future, but the thing is I don't want to have to buy new tires so that my truck doesn't look wimpy. Also, I don't want it looking ridiculous with big tires and no lift. So, there has to be a medium somewhere. So, all in all I want it looking good with bigger tires & no lift, but when I do get my lift I still want it looking good. Here's a picture if it helps at all on what size tire would look good.

Sounds like an all terrain tire its what you are looking for. With no changes in suspension I don't think you could go much bigger than what you have now

Really? Someone told me I could put 32's on it. Maybe it's the view of the truck. This is the only side view I have it. (keep in mind that my steering wheel was turned a bit in this pic)

I'm not positive..just guessing by the way it looks. What size is on there now.....how close are they to the fenders when you turn?

I got the measurements. I don't know if I did it correctly. Not turned front: 4" between front to tire, 4 1/2" rear to tire, 7 1/2" top to top of tire. (This is from outside fender to the tire) Turned: 2 1/2" from front fender to the backside of the wheel. The back: 6" from fender to front & back of the wheel, & 9" from top of wheel to fender. Hope this helps

Do you mean the outside of the fender or the inside?

235/75/15 is 9.25" wide and almost 29" tall. I would think a 31x10.50 is about as big as you can go without a lift. With a 4" lift you might be able to clear 33x12.50, but they may rub a little.

that size lists out to be just under 29". From the dimensions you gave with the tires turned i don't think you could fit 32's(i could be wrong though) They would probably rub when turning.

All right, I appreciate everyone's help. 31x10x50 seems like a good size. Also, the website where I'll be buying the 4" lift says they recommend 35x12.50. I'm just saying, but I know I wont be able to fit those without a lift, so I guess it doesn't matter. I hope it doesn't look wimpy once I put the 4" lift on in the future. Again Thank You

I found an old copy of Fourwheeler magazine that has "what fits, what hits" For your truck, 31x10.5 should fit stock, 32" with 2.5" and minor fender trimming, 33x12.5 4" lift, 35" with 6" or 4" with body lift.

I only have a had copy, I have not been able to find it online yet.

Well, the 4" lift I'm looking at is a suspension lift with Front: Lifted leaf springs, polyurethane bushings, steering block & hardware. Rear: Lift blocks, u-bolts, & hardware. I haven't even been able to find a 4" body lift. Unless I just put more & more leaf springs.

I meant 4" suspension and 3" body lift. A body lift should be cheap and easy to do on your truck.

Yeah, but I don't know what all to get to be honest. I just know blocks for the rear and leaf springs for the front, but I also don't know how much of each and everything else.
