So I see the only things on it are Check Engine, ABS, brake, and Maintaince Required. Since I don't need any of those things, I am thinking of removing it. Is there any reason to keep it? I may leave it hooked up and just under the dash in case I need it for something. It's a simple connection and I don't have anti lock brakes, or need to know when the truck needs an oil change and I know when my parking brakes are on...

So fill me in, otherwise I am blocking it off and putting a panel there for a=some accessories.

Old thread but did you ever do this? I was thinking of the same and simple relocating my CEL and Parking Light (I have some small LEDs that work perfect for that). I don't need a maintenance reminder and when I install my 5.9L Magnum, it won't work anyways. I won't be needing the ABS light either, since the 1-ton axles won't support them (unless I happen to find a period specific D60).

the only light in that panel worth saving is the brake light. it generally lets you know if there is an issue with the brake system before something really bad happens. the rest are not really needed. abs on these trucks don't really work so you are probably better off to unplug it anyways.
