The radio in my 1987 Ram (Royal SE) is crap. Tape deck won't play without squealing, most buttons are broken etc. So I was thinking of installing a new one. My issue is I don't know if it is a 2 din size or a 1.5 din. It seems bigger than a standard (1 din) aftermarket radio but is it big enough to be a 2 din? Anyone installed a new/aftermarket radio? If so, what did you do? Install kit or did you find something that fit? Thanks

Ask the customer service when searching on the market can help. Some dealers even teach you how to install the kit.

Got my install kit at Best Buy in 2007 - off the shelf. As Gen.1 Dodges are now 8 years further out of date, you may hafta go to a stereo specialty shop. Or fleabay.

Crutchfield.com is an awesome resource, even if you don't make your final purchase there.
