I have a 1990 dodge 250 with the 360, throttle body injection! I did a oil change about a week ago, minutes later I pulled up to a stop and started idling pretty rough, this went on for a day! The next day it ran fine, the day after that it started again and hasn't stopped, now it idles rough then dies, but while driving it does fine! I changed the oil again and nothin changed, replaced the two injectors didn't help, checked most of the vacuum lines and they seem to be good, I was told a while ago it had coolant leaking from the intake gasket, could that cause it? In need of help cause I'm about to run it into a wall!!

you might want to inspect and possibly replace the pickup sensor in the distributor. it is a relatively cheap part and most likely your issue. if you had leaking intake your truck would smoke more or drip coolant.

Is that the same thing as a Hall Effect switch?

My chiltons sayes you have to remove the distributor if it has a pick up, you don't have to if it has a hall! which sucks cause I cant find a hall effect switch at any parts store

your truck wont have a pickup sensor in the distributor. it has the hall effect sensor since it has the TBI fuel injection setup. it has just been that long since i had to deal with a 88-92 that i forgot what the part was called

Went to start it this morning and now it wont idle at all, the cap and rotor were corroded pretty good, could that cause a idle problem?

did you try reseting the computer after you installed the new hall effects sensor in the distributor? a dirty distributor cap won't help things so it should probably be cleaned or replaced. if you have access to a tach you could try adjusting the idle speed sensor
