Hi, I'm new here. I just got a 1984 D250 with 95K miles. All original, no bondo and chrome isn't even dented. All I can say is God was blessing me. It has a 360. I love it. Only problem is the linkage to the carb that controls it changing to a lower gear when opened up isn't adjusted properly if at all. Can someone tell me how to adjust it? Thank you

you adjust the linkage under the truck by the transmission. you usually just loosen the bolt, slide the rod forward and tighten the bolt up. it might possibly be rusted up tho and you might have to take the linkage out to get it moving. you can just keep adjusting it forward and backwards until you have it shifting as you would like
