I have a 1988 d100 with a 318 5.2L v8, the truck was originally a little v6 and the previous owner swapped the original tbi engine with a late 70's model 318 with a carter carburetor. Long story short the rod that runs through the carburetor is worn out and causing a vacuum leak. I've been debating on doing a Hemi swap into the truck or would y'all recommend me doing.

i think it would depend on what you are willing to spend. i am pretty sure most hemi swap harness's cost $1000+. that doesn't even include the cost of an engine or pcm. it would be cheaper to get an aftermarket fuel injection system for the old engine than a hemi swap but you would definitely want to make sure the engine is in good shape before putting too much money on aftermarket parts.

there used to be a few shops, who would re-bush throttle shafts. Are you sure that is where your vacuum leak is?
