I ran fuel injector cleaner through my injectors and it seemed to make my mpgs go down a lot. I thought it was supposed to improve your fuel mileage not make it worse! It seems to run rich is there anything I can do to fix this?:beatdeadhorse5::angry94:

When was the last time your O2 sensor was changed? If it's running rich, thats the first place I'd start inspecting...

Your PCM will adjust fuel mixture off your coolant temp sensor until the engine goes into closed loop...once in closed loop it will ignore the coolant temp sensor signal and adjust off the O2 sensor readings...if the O2 sensor is faulty, then it could run lean or rich, more than likely rich.

It is very common for a faulty O2 to NOT throw a CEL in an OBDI system.

Usually FI cleaner will reduce your MPG's due to the nature of the cleaner, but it should bounce back. BG44K is a good cleaner, but honestly the best is the type where the engine runs on the can and isn't diluted in the gasoline.

Well you can put a o2 sensor in anyways, just get you a new one. Find where it plugs in then you can have a muffler shop weld you up a place for the new one.
