Original slant 6 paint colors?

Hello everyone

I am currently working on the restoration of my 1985 dodge ram D100. I am just finishing the rebuild on the Original slant 6 engine. I am wondering does anyone know the proper factory color they came in?

I'd say black as I saw a fella here in town with an original 81 Prospector that was a Slant 6.

you can really paint them whatever color you want. black or chrysler corp blue tend to look good.

did you shave the head to save a bit of weight and increase the compression ratio a bit?

what part of ontario are you from?

I am in Oro Station Ontario. I see you are in Orangeville we are actually only about an hour apart!

I have not shaved the head yet but I think I will be doing that.

here is a good article on modding a slant 6. i don't know if i would ever go as far as them but i think just shaving the heads would increase the power and performance enough to wake the engine up.
