New to the forums and first gen rams. I just bought an 84 w250 with a built 318 and 727 torqueflite transmission. How do I adjust the shift points and kick down? Truck will shift to third early and won't kick down when I give it hard acceleration. Any help would be nice thanks.

the kickdown adjustment is usually under the truck by the transmission. it is hard to really say what has been done to try making it work. to me it looks like you might possibly missing a few springs but then again that don't look like a stock intake and carb.

generally, you want the kick down lever all the way rearward on the trans, when the carb is at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). That being said, if you have aftermarket intake and carb, the geometry of the aftermarket carb throttle linkage may be difficult to get it just right. Most aftermarket parts are made to fit Chebbies, if they work on a Mope, it's purely a happy coincidence.
