Alright
1985 W150 4x4 rear left brake rebuild.

Got it all torn apart and cleaned. Got the spring kit. But my pics I took to show me how to put it back together leave much to be desired. This particular spring seems to be baffling me. The hooks are in different directions. Do I have to twist it? And what dang holes is it suppose to go in ?

Yea. I used that diag, but that funky little spring had me confused. I thought it HAD to hook on that small side, but seems just needed to be inserted, twisted and that's what holds that side in. Got it now. The saga of my 85 W150 continues. ;-)

ya it can be a bit tricky the first time with no guidance but once you do it a few times you can almost do it blindfolded.

did both sides look like that before? almost looks like some oil or something might have got on the shoes. might possibly want to pull the wheel off in a week or so to double check it. it would suck if oil is getting in there.

looks good otherwise. nice and clean.

The cylinder on the left wheel was blowing brake fluid on everything for who knows how long. It was completely failed. The right side was fine though old and rusted. Replaced all on both sides. Everything is purty now. ;-)
