Default Towing capacities
Hey all. New to the 1st gen rams. Just sold my '09 hemi and in the market for a D/W 250 for farm use. I cannot find the towing capacities for the engines that are available for first gens. I'm not wanting a diesel but I'm not sure the big step down to the 360 is going to be enough. I haul hay, cattle, tractors, balers and other equipment. Tractor alone is upwards 7500lbs without implements and trailer factored in. Anyone have input or put these motors to the test anything like I'm wanting to?

I don't believe anything gas is going to be of use to you.

You're going to need a Cummins and may have to turn it up a bit to tow the tractors.

i don't see why a 360 would not be able to pull any of the stuff you mentions but it will be a pig on fuel doing so. if you are constantly using the truck for farm work you would be better off with a Cummins. they get great fuel mileage when not towing and get decent mileage when towing.
