Jeepguy_1980, again awesome work.

I was reading the website and wasn't sure how the jailbreak is affected by software updates from Chrysler for the radio. I am guessing it removes the jailbreak and you have to add it again, is hat correct?

I am curious, how much different would the lock pick look for the cargo cam, if it's possible with that? I am guessing you do not know since you don't have one but maybe someone with a lock pick and extra cams can chime in. They do show a screen for enabling functions but something like the cargo cam would be of curiosity.

I cannot speak to the interface, but I could certainly make a harness.

So is the LED third brake light part plug and play for the 09-12 Rams? Trying to find a good LED third brake light and the camera is a bonus.

Just stumbled on this thread after looking for help. I have a 2013 2500 with the CHMSL cam and back-up cam. Is there anyway to have the back-up cam display in the 8.4 display instead of the rear view mirror? I did pull the dash apart and found 2 rca's going into the back of the head unit, a purple-reddish connection and a beige-yellow connection, not sure if I could just swap those?

A sad FYI but Lassen (jeepguy1980) has passed away. I was able to dig around on social media and saw the announcement from 9/13/14.

I didn't know him outside of this forum but its obvious many of us shared his enthusiasm for tinkering and I was impressed by what he shared with us. I'm a bit shocked considering he couldn't have been but a few years older than me (38).

Fair winds and following seas to you Lassen!

I have a 2011 Outdoorsman RC. I have no camras or a display. If I were to get a aftermarket touchscreen radio would I be able to hook up the cam? Also I see the part number but what is the website to order it?

I know there was unfortunate news about the OP...

Does anyone know the part number on the wiring or where it can be bought?

I actually ordered the Gold package from customtronix and it comes with a 3rd brake light with the camera already integrated. My question is where do I run the cables to get the cable into the cab? Same thing with a front camera.

There are apparently 3 separate sets of video inputs on the back of the radio plug. Unfortunately, Jeepguy was the only one I knew of to track down the specific pins. I believe he mentioned (in this thread?) one of the inputs being one row above or below the backup camera inputs.
Do a search of his posts and you may find it. Post back please if u find it.

I'm sad to hear that. Nor did I know him outside this forum, just observed his knowledge and all his work he shared. 38 is young but I guess that's the world we live in.

Yes. The connectors are the same. May have a "brake light out" message if you dont have the LED factory lights. Not sure on this though. Not many have done it and posted about it.

Im still looking for the camera connector :/

So even if you get the factory oem cam you still need the rax jailbreak?

Yes. And no. Depends how you wire things. The cargo camera on the 2500s went to the radio while back up tailgate cam went to the rear view mirror. If you want them both to feed to the radio you will need the lock pick. The lock pick allowed both feeds played through thw radio.

Make sense?

The original third brake light I have in my truck, is red and doesn't have a camera. I bought the OEM third brake light with a camera for $180 at quirkparts. I decided to go with the rax jailbreak since it is software based so it's overall a cleaner installation. I needed to get the silver version to get their harness and camera unlocks, for an original price of €299. They sold it to me for €180. Thanks Customtronix! Once everything arrives in the mail, I will post some photos of the installation of the cargo cam and wiring.

Subscribed to this thread. Not sure of what to use for harness from factory cargo cam/third break light to radio. Don't need the Rax third break light. Keep us posted. Im ready to pull the trigger before Christmas takes all my money.

Please do post those pictures. I am curious how this setup is hooked up and which specific pins are used on the radio (which radio do u have? OEM tailgate cam?).
It would be nice to see the directions (pdf maybe?) that come with it, overall picture of the harnesses and the connector ends too.

Thanks.

Ok so today I got the harness and a camera that customtronix sends you with the purchase of the silver rax jailbreak. It arrived 5 days at my door after purchase, sweet! The camera says rear view, but I cant see why it cant be used as a front camera. It's pretty small. It comes with mounting hardware, a drill, and a really, really long rca video cable.

The harness that plugs in between the radio and the original cable, has an rca aux connector, and 2 rca video inputs. The aux cable splits into 3 wires at the end (red, black and white) I dont know what what is though. The video cables split into 2 wires at the end (black and yellow). Hope this helps somebody along the way.

The third brake light still didn't come in the mail, so I don't really know how that is going to work out yet.
