Ok so today I got the harness and a camera that customtronix sends you with the purchase of the silver rax jailbreak. It arrived 5 days at my door after purchase, sweet! The camera says rear view, but I cant see why it cant be used as a front camera. It's pretty small. It comes with mounting hardware, a drill, and a really, really long rca video cable.

The harness that plugs in between the radio and the original cable, has an rca aux connector, and 2 rca video inputs. The aux cable splits into 3 wires at the end (red, black and white) I dont know what what is though. The video cables split into 2 wires at the end (black and yellow). Hope this helps somebody along the way.

The third brake light still didn't come in the mail, so I don't really know how that is going to work out yet.
The o.e. third brake light uses a very odd connector. One I still haven't managed to source yet... without it this project is a bust.

Could you upload a photo of the camera connector?

According to Jeepguy, the backup camera in the latch, has the same connector as the chmsl camera. If we could get a connector like that, we could probably figure out how to make a harness that has the 6 pin end to 12v and rca video.

I can check that. But fairly certain they are different.

Sweet. What's the part number for that cable? How do you have access to DealerConnect?

I was able to remove my tailgate cover and plug in the oem CHMSL into it, I engaged the truck in reverse an the camera functioned. The part for this cable is 68189124AB.

Sale Price: $29.46

it looks like jeep guy used this cable and spliced it into his own custom harness. FYI the part I listed hay a y connection going to the locking tailgate mech, it may be avail without it but you should be able to hook it into your own fabbed up cable.

FYI the part numbers for the two connectors are the same, X41087-AM-X31087-A37. The numbers you were looking at are the actual numbers assigne to the connectors in the wiring diagram not the part numbers. And a side note the part number X41087-AM-X31087-A37 is not a Chrysler part number but the vendor's part number. These can be tough to track down without knowing who the vendor is.

Nice find. I hadn't been able to put both parts in hand yet. That clears that issue up!

I emailed customtronix, and they said they could get me that harness for the oem cargo for $80 plus the software. I dont think they know I have their jailbreak and harness already, they probably were thinking of adding it stock. Anyways, shaftman if you get something worked out, could you post some instructions/photos of how you did it?

I found a 2014 with the CHMSL installed from the factory at a local dealer. I have given the Vin to my local parts guy and he is looking for me, crossing my fingers. Any of you guys try that or do you know and have a good relationship with a parts guy?

Cam swap

I don't mean to highjack the thread but I couldn't seem to find a confirmation if this is a solution to my issue.

I have both the factory cargo and backup cam stock on my Ram 2500, What i'd like to do is simply have all of the cameras display on the 8.4an. Also possibly add a front camera.

If this is indeed possible, what would i need to get from these guys?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
