Just got back from driving to Greenville sc and back to charlotte NC hand calculated 14.9 with 37s and 373s traveling 75-80mph. 11.4 all city on last tank hand calculated, 12 was on obc. I use 93 only and won't use anything else. If you're not using top grade and getting worse mileage maybe try it for a few tanks, it certainly helped mine a bit.

If you to the math, paying an extra $.35/gallon(around here) isn't worth a 1 mpg bump.

Mpg was only part of the equation for mine. And remember I'm on 37s, so stock sized tires or slightly larger would get even better mileage. I was close to 17 highway which for some on here that's 3-4mpg more.

Hand calc'd my last tank of fuel. 10.9 MPG...matched EVIC perfectly. 90/10 City/highway. Speedo has been corrected (and verified with GPS) for 37s.

My last tank of gas with mixed country/city/highway driving, tires at ~60psi cold, 91 octane gas got me 415 miles. I'm happy with that.

Mostly flat and 2 lane country driving. At 20k miles I just checked a tank fill and got 16.3 on the EVIC, hand calculation was 15.5.

I would love 400+miles out of my 34 gallon tank. So how many gallons did it take to get to 415?

I took a trip with the wife up to the BWCA last weekend. The EVIC said 16.1, and the hand calc was 16.0. I was shocked at how close they were. 4-lane for 75% of the drive and 2-lane for the rest of it. There was a little bit of City driving too. 72-75 on the highway and 55-60 on the 2-lane.

2500 miles on truck now..

Wife took it to Beach with daughters and mom, 5 girls and all the beach stuff in truck, running AC.. She said she hit a high of 19.1 on the way back before running into traffic and hills and going through town. It settled on 17.6.
I drive with a lighter foot than her, I could probably squeeze out 1 MPG more than her..

Not in my truck

Mine is a 2015 3500 regular cab with 4.10s. 22000 miles in Washington state. Evic has shown me 17.8 straight freeway at 65-70 but it's consistently 1.5 mpg optimistic. Current fuel economy from evic from the time I bought it is 11.2. Just drove it 90 miles yesterday dragging a 5k enclosed 16 foot trailer at 10.8 which realistically puts me in the 9.5 range straight freeway 65-70. Have seen as low as 8.5 dragging 7k through the mountains. Truck is bone stock. Love the truck but for the terrible mileage I would hope at least for more power. Sucks to plan a trip based on availability and price of fuel. There isn't always a gas station on every corner out west unless you're in town. YMMV

Just want to add my two cents. I have a 2017 CC reg box with the 6.4 and I'm avg 10.3 and find this utterly frustrating!!! I had an 02 GMC with the 8.1L and got better gas mileage, not to mention way more power! I do not have many miles on the truck, less than 1500, but at this point I wish I could return this POS to the dealer. And of course I cannot add a programmer to help with fuel mileage as it will void my warranty. Maybe it will get better with added mileage but at this point the truck is parked and I drive our car because I'm tired of dumping money into the fuel tank. And just to add, I've only run 91 octane thru it. Any thoughts? Is this normal??

Im around 13 +/- around town and a little back road driving. My Ecoboost was about 14.5 in the same scenario.. Im also pulling a much larger truck than f 150 was.. so it's not a huge deal to me. It does seem to get better as miles pile on.. Mine was like a light switch.. I have almost 3000 miles on it now, and it is noticably better in both power and MPG's than it was at 1000 miles. others say that as you near 10K it improves even more.

BUT, I look at it this way... I bought a CC 4x4 LB with a big v8 to pull a big camper and my wife occasionally uses it as a daily driver.. while fuel economy is important, I do not look at such a truck and have happy prius thoughts..

So a 2500 truck with gas engine gets lower mpg than you expected and it's a POS?! How heavy of a foot are you using? What type of terrain are you driving? Is that city, hwy or combined? I get better mpg with 37s and 373 gears all city than what you posted, I avg 11.4 all city and close to 15 hwy with the 37s. Give us more info and we may be able to help or give some insight, calling a truck a pos cause of its mpg doesn't help us, you or anyone else.

I had an '04 Chevy with the 8.1/Ally and it got 10 mixed driving, and 8 pulling my box trailer. My 6.4 is definitely better around town. I haven't towed enough distance with my 6.4, but I'd guess it will be about the same or slightly better.

Approx 400 HW mile, and the rest are city miles. I do not have a lead foot a feel I've driven this like a grandpa. And, OK, maybe it's NOT a complete POS, but I would have expected a lot more! For a brand new truck to get 10 mpg without towing anything is absurd!! Sorry if you still disagree. Wanna buy a brand new RAM 2500 with less than 1500 miles on it.... Screaming deal!!

Haha at least you still have a sense of humor! The city mileage isn't great with these trucks but I'm still getting better as mine sits. A lot of people who buy new have reported the truck flips a switch at a certain point after break in, some say 3k miles some say 12k. To be honest, at 1500 miles that thing is still fresh. Give it some time, it'll get better. Seems like most are avg 12-13 city when still stock. Are you using tow/haul mode around town? I have been and it drives a ton better, definitely more responsive and rewarding to drive

Won't driving in tow/haul mode increase my rpm's hence lower my mpg even more?
