Truck looks great!

338 miles / 27 gallons = 12.5 mpg...not to bad for 37's and a 2500.

Im still debating and going back and forth on a 1500 and a 2500. A local dealership owner has a 1500 with the mopar/superlift 4" lift and 35" tires, no tune but speedo is corrected and he was saying he gets 13 city and 18 highway (5.7, 3.92 gears, crew cab, 8spd). 12.5 is pretty close to what he said he was getting. Im contemplating a 2500 with the Thuren 3" lift and 35x12.5 tires...being a ligher/smaller tire, I would assume the mpg would be a little better as well, maybe the same 13 as the 1500.

With 37's and 3.73 gears, majority highway miles at 68-70mph, I hand calc'd 13.5mpg. Not bad IMO. I stay in 5th gear at around 2000-2100rpm.

I've run a few tanks thru since going from 33's to 37's. I haven't seen any different MPG since the change; average about 14.

Quick update, only thru a half tank so far so only have what OBC says which don't know how accurate it is right now, in the past it's been within .3-.4 mpg. This is been primarily city driving and short trips under 15 mins. It usually takes me two weeks to use a full tank so I'll be able to report back soon on accurate numbers. Also my wife's brother having a baby today/tonight/tmrw so will have to drive an 35-40 mins when that happens which will skew numbers a bit. Either way...

Got through a full tank, well 27 gallons in 309 miles, so 11.4 majority city and hammering down to get to hospital Monday for bro in laws first born. Also, I'll be lowering psi in the tires to get even wear so that should go down even more but we will see on the next fill up.

It's amazing how 37's look "just right" for these trucks when running a basic level or PW suspension. I remember how 33's on my '95 half ton looked kinda big.

Yea I agree! I think 35s on 17s look great as well with proper offset. I wanted to go this route but I bought this truck for the black or sport appearance package, seemed silly to get rid of the wheels in the first 4 months cause I do like them and I have no issue with running quality spacers. Also, 35s on 20s look good too, 37s just give it that beef look I wanted. Surprised I haven't lost a lot of mileage.

That doesn't seem to bad. If my local dealership owner is getting 13 on a 1500 in the city with the 35" tires...compelling choice. Not sure why I like the 2500's so much, certainly don't need the capacity and will rip the suspenion off and replace with a lower capacity Thuren anyway...I thinks just the size of the truck, looks great in my opinion with either 35's or 37's.

Wondering with 35's if the mileage would go up to around 13 or so in the city.

On stock tires I never got 13 mpg city so I highly doubt it. I was averaging 11.6 before. For me I don't "need" a 2500 either, but I had a 1500 before and felt it was never the right height. With this truck it's perfect with the leveland 37s so in the long run I knew it'd cost me less to get to my goals. I'll be doing a Carli/Fox combo eventually now that I know what height I'm happy with. With my 1500 on 35s I was averaging 12.8 so I'm more than happy with my choice. And even though I didn't purchase a 2500 gasser for mpg, it's still a factor somewhat

Got it, definitely wouldn't get 13 then if even with stock tires. No reason to not go with 37's then since the impact was negligible for you...11.6 vs 11.4. Maybe the highway mileage would show a larger impact with the larger/heavier tires.

We will find out tmrw! Headed to Greenville SC for Eric Church concert. I also brought the psi down in the rears to 45 and fronts 55 so I think my mileage will only get worse but it's still negligible from factory. I'll be regearing to 456s but it'll be a good test for those looking to do this before and after gears

Sorry brother, didn't see this til now! I ended up with 14.7 I think? I posted in another thread but it's something like that. Not having the right gears made the truck shift constantly on the smallest crests and I ended netting better mpg with leaving the truck in 5th, as this stopped the constant shifting and kept rpm around 2k which really helped maintain speed. I was also driving 75-80mph so I bet I could do better by backing off the throttle. I've also been using tow/haul around town and it's a delight! Haha so I'll post my city mpg with tow/haul engaged soon. I suspect it will be less but the driveability is drastically improved. 456s are a must in my opinion. 410s would be better than 373, it's by no means as terrible as a Jeep since it's got so much power but it'll help the transmission shifting

I put 35's & a 2.5" level on my 08 mega w/ Hemi. I feel ya on the shifting on even the smallest hills. Gears are in my future, too.

I definitely noticed some braking ability loss but not enough to make a change or worry about it. I've had to stand on the brakes hard and had no issues stopping or did I feel I didn't have enough brakes
