My 325/65/18 (35") Duratracs are shot and I'm fixin' to replace them. I am going to give the Kanati Mud Hogs a try and I can get 37x12.5 for a good price.

Going from a 35 to 37 am I going to see a big difference in MPG, stopping power, or anything else? I'd love to have that extra inch in height but if its going to cause problems I'll skip.

Thanks

Is the truck gas or diesel? is it lifted? Also are 37"s a lt tire?

It's all in my signature, 6.4 Hemi, leveled, more than enough room for 37's. Are you asking if the tires are suited for the truck? They are E rated 10 ply, so yes.

Cons:
mpg down
stopping power down
acceleration down

Pros:
you'll be rocking 37s

I have 3.73's and 37x12.5 Terra Grapplers, and I cannot wait to get some 4.56's. If you live in an area that has any sort of hills, you will for sure notice the difference, especially with 3.73 gears. I'm in north TX, so not overly hilly and elevation is around 400ft or so...and I still have to be mindful while cruise control is on and drop a mph or two when going up basically any kind of incline (in order to avoid dropping a gear). With the 37's and 3.73's I don't reach 2k rpm til about 90-91mph, and cruising at 65mph barely puts me at 1500 rpm.

Thanks for the info, that's what I needed to know. I'm in MN so very, very few hills and I have no idea what the altitude is. I guess if the 37 Kanatis aren't much more than the 35's I'll give them a shot.

I'm on my second set of kanati mud hogs. Didn't run the first ones out before I sold my truck so don't know what mileage to expect. Had 12k on then on my 1500 and they still had lots of tread. On my diesel I'm hoping at least 20k. That way if they wear fast I won't be too disappointed. Hoping for more, but having low expectations. They ride nice, look mean and balance well. Pics of the ram are from when I was selling it which is why it was clean. 12k on the tires.

I was looking into a leveling kit and slightly larger tires when I had to replace my factory tires, but then I would not be able to get into my garage. I went with the stock size on my replacements.

Is that not a concern of yours?

Jerry1984 thanks for the pics! I didn't record the mileage when I put my Duratracs on but I want to say it's been about 50k miles so I hope the Kanati's do better than 20k!

MN-Ram I built my garage, it has a 9 foot door so clearance isn't a problem. I will be moving next spring though, and at that point I might be parking outside even with 35's.

Yeah, I'm sure they will do better, but I'm not expecting toyo wear out of them.

Yeah if it's pretty flat where you're at then it shouldn't be too bad. I can live with it, but I'm still going to get 4.56's so that it cruises a little easier.
