I know that airing down your tires can be real important if you get in some soft stuff. My question is, with an HD Ram ('16 2500 4x4 CTD) how far would you air down the tires. I'm afraid of going too low on the pressure and losing the bead because of the extra weight of the 2500 vs the 1500. How low would you go?

I have gone down to 18 psi at one point. Funny, really didn't look that low unless I was going over rocks.

Are you asking about everyday empty psi? I have 315/70/17 tires and I ran 45 front & 40 rear with good results. Of course the TPMS warnings will go off at those pressures but the settings can be adjusted. The dealer can't but guys like me with an Autel Maxisys can. Send me a PM or email to [email protected] if interested.

No, I'm talking about airing down tires to prevemt getting stuck when you run across soft sandy areas off road.

you can go down pretty low. the sidewalls are plenty stiff to support the truck without breaking a bead. i usually do 20-23psi, wouldnt hesistate to go 15 psi if needed.

I haven't aired down in my 2500 yet. You might ask in the power wagon section since they should have some good info on off-roading these big trucks. With the cummins, you'd want to be a little higher psi then the pw.

When I was in my jeep jk unlimited, airing down to about 15 psi was normal. With beadlocks, I would air down to about 8-10 psi.

I'd think 20 psi would be about right for these heavy trucks. Again, I haven't aired down that low yet. Since moving to a truck from my jeep I haven't rocked crawled.
