I know the ram had single wheels before on the 3500 what years was there a choice?
Also why are long bed boxes only a couple hundred more and what's the cons to having them besides parking spots

You have a choice in SRW or DRW, why you can't find one IDK. As far as price short bed is cheapest, Long bed is a few dollars more, and DRW is a few dollars more. Some people love DRW, some people don't.
Cons of DRW are really simple, if you need one buy one if you don't don't. The towing capacity is higher, and stability is better for your big TT, or Toyhaulers. Con is size, weight, 6 tires to replace, but again it's all a non issue if you need the capacity of a DRW.

Your on the east coast, check out Kernersville. They will have a few HUNDRED to choose from, yes hundred.

Im specifically speaking about the new trucks (2014) just to be clear. I don't see an option on Chryslers site for a dually or single when building and pricing, but they do show a pic of one (1 ton) with single wheels. It is also not showing anything but a dually on their towing guide. I haven't seen any in my area dealers . they are all 2500s. Thanks

Yes 2014, Kernersville has hundreds of 2014 3500 SRW and DRW. If a local dealer can't get you one they are not worth wasting your time, there are tons out there.

Dealers in my area had more 3500 srw to choose from than drw. Either 6.4 or ctd. I never noticed the ram site only listed drw...

On the RAM site you select SRW, or DRW as one of the optional packages, I think it is a delete option to go to SRW. You won't see it on the trim level/truck size (2500/3500) page.

I personally don't see any downside to a full size box, but I use mine with a toolbox, and a gooseneck all the time, so I like having cab clearance, and still being able to close the tailgate with stuff in the bed.

If you plan to use 4x4 much then the SRW is definitely advisable, unless you tow LOTS. I tow lots, and am happy with the SRW 3500 I have now, but I tow goosenecks which are inherently more stable than bumper pulls, so less of an issue. I had an 05 dually 4x4 in MT, and with good tires it did all right in deep snow, but the SRW are definitely better for that. The dually is more fun/easier to drift though :p

OK I must be blind. I don't see it anywhere. I'm on the ram trucks site. Went to build and price 2014 ram 3500 big horn 4x4 crew cab. You would think it's under exterior where the wheel choices are. I don't see it under any packages either

Single wheels 3500 big horn 4x4 crew cab. Thanks

Buddy, unless u click on the dual rear wheel option, it is srw by default.

Under packages, theres a dual rear wheel choice. Just dont click it if u want single wheels. here:

Ram - Build & Price - Options

Just my opinion, u may want to look at a Laramie, and a mega cab. They are soooo roomy.

Also, unless u really NEED to tow over 15,000 lbs, consider the 3/4 ton. The Coil Springs (1 ton has Leaf Springs) ride soooooooo nice, especially if u add Air-Ride.

Got it. Its not an option with the big horn crew cab. But it is with the mega cab. Big horn is the only one I'm interested in. Thanks. I was looking at toy haulers that were around 13-15k dry. By the way, I have always had more than enough leg room with a quad cab and could care less about my passengers. They're not the ones paying 50k for the truck :)
