Just an FYI for those that may be interested in the full plug and play AMP steps for their HD. I ordered a set yesterday from Amazon for 30% off the normal price. They are currently 15% off anyway, and you can get an additional 15% off and free shipping for Prime members if you clip their coupon that they attached by the buy it now button. I ended up getting them for 1180 shipped to my door. Should be here Friday for a weekend install. Not sure how long it will last. The part number for my particular application is 76139-01A. Just verify the PN you need on the AMP Research website before ordering. Ended up saving $400 off the standard price for this particular set. :happy107:

Me either! Should have them ready to go on next weekend. Just too much stuff going on this weekend for an install.

Thats a great deal!!

Yea... Too good of a deal for me to pass up on. Hopefully someone else is able to get in on it before they close it down. :happy107:

Very nice. Been a while since I did mine, did a few of my buddies trucks too.. trying to think of anything I can give you to give you as a pointer to install.

Just take your time. The AMP Steps are serious steps, you'll see that once you start to unbox and see the parts.

Board alignment, don't tighten the bolts all the way, close the door and you'll see they will not align up even, push them in place. Then tighten them up. Open and try again..

You may need to step on the board to get it to sit... but should be good.

if I can remember anything else, I'll post it up.

OH! The blue plug on the BCM under the dash, make sure it's all the way in. It may feel like it's in, the lock may click in place, but if you have no dome light, headlights etc.. that is it.. you need that plug in all the way. That is really the hardest part of the job.. getting that wiring unplugged.

If you are a tiny guy, it will be easy.

Thanks for the heads up on the install. I'll definitely use that information when it comes time. I've heard the same things about the pass through about it not being tight or fully secure. Hopefully I don't run into that issue at all.

Finally had a chance to install them on my day off yesterday. Took some time to install, but they came out perfect. I will not however be installing the supplied step LED's. I will use them as a trigger for a different set of undercarriage/step lights that will be installed at a later date.

The truck looks much cleaner without the Mopar steps, and the AMP steps have a much larger platform that is lower and easier to step onto. Overall, with my limited amount of use, I am extremely pleased with them.

they really do look the best without the side steps on it, so much cleaner with the retractable and you can still get up into the cab.

I've got Mopar step on my 2500. Just curious what difference is in step height between the two.

Yes sir! Much better.

One to power at the battery, one to ground at the battery, one to the OBD port... Done. Easy as hell IMO. Then just connect the two ends to the steps.

These come down approximately 3"-4" lower than the factory Mopar step. It makes entry and exit much easier. :happy107:

I can understand that it's easier to get into but always wondered how being 3"-4" lower makes it easier to get out of, am I missing something?

The Mopar steps being up higher made for extra drop from the step to the ground on the way down. With these the step from ground to step, and step to interior is more equal, and visa versa. Just makes it easier IMO. Anything that lessens joint impact at my age is a +1.
