Instead of dart filter. Changing oil myself today and ether going MO899 or other high quality filter not putting Mopar dart filter on my truck.

I am running the WIX 57899 which is the equivalent of the MO899. If fits fine and is working with no issues. Took maybe an extra 1/4 quart of oil to reach full line when I changed it.

According to the NAPA auto parts website, the MO899 is the factory spec filter for vehicles w/o an oil cooler system. Depends upon how far people push their oil life, the DART filter will be just fine. I'm using the BOSCH 3334 that I bought on clearance for $4.00. I have 2 left, I'm changing oil every 5k miles no matter what the EVIC says. So @ 25k miles I will be changing to my old reliable brand....AC/DELCO PF48 fits the 6.4, and I have 500k+ miles on several small block chevys over the years using that filter with NO oil related issues...

Debating on going with the larger one next time around...I did it once on my 2014 1500 5.7 that called for the smaller one, and there was no difference in pressure or anything like that. So I figure, more filter media, why not...right?

I ended up using mobile 1 and a mobile 1 extended capacity filter. Swear the trucks quiter now. I wonder if the dealership used the right stuff last time. The was fairly dirty too.

filters opinions are like oil opinions. everyone's got one and they are all different....

or is that ass holes ....:hmm: yah, sorry

filters are like ass holes, everyone's got one and they are all different.

in all seriousness. there are a lot of good oil and oil filter options and only a few bad ones. Stick with the one that tickles your fancy the most out of all the common brand's that everyone else is using and you will be fine. :favorites13:

I use the M1-403. I got them at $2 at rock auto while they were on some sort of blow out.

I like the Mobil filters. U&A is right. Use what you feel is good.

I use the Cummins certified Valvoline oil.. I used to use the Mopar factory filter, but since I found a deal on these M1s... been using them.
