My 2014 2500 needs front pads at 37k, any recommendations on brands. We tow a 10k tt about 3 to 4k miles towing in the summer.

I've been changing out to ceramic brake pads, I beleive the manufacture is Bendix. Not cheap the last time I did brakes, around $70 per axle but they last and don't leave behind much brake dust. Prices seemed to have dropped under $40 per axle.

There seems to be a lot of brake pads claiming to be ceramic, or made with a percentage of ceramic, it is hard to separate them apart or identify the pad makeup on the box that is why I use the Bendix brand.

I am not sure if they make pads for the 2500 but I use EBC yellowstuff. I also tow a quite heavy trailer. This was with my 05. Have not had to change the pads yet on my 16.

My 2014 2500 has 36K and I'm at well over 50%, and I live in some steep hills and tow sometimes. Have you actually seen the pad wear or are you being told by a shop? I've had a lot of shops tell me I needed brakes over the years.

For you EBC guys, help.

Looked over their web site trying to understand the differences between all the colors they offer. For the most part, the descriptions all indicate the same thing, that is, race car, drifting, SUV, and towing applications.

So, what color do I want?

I'm towing 15,000 pounds of RV and want a little more stopping power from the truck (3500 Cummins). Second, the factory pads must think there are a crop duster the way they can blacken my wheels after a few hundred miles.

Do you do just the front brakes, or the rears also?

So, if you are going to throw a color at me without an explanation, please don't and, "there the best" doesn't count. I am really interested in understanding the differences between the color offerings and their web site is of little use.

Thanks guys.

I use Yellow Stuff. I like them as I never notice any brake fade. The draw back of them is they have to have some heat in them to bite good. If you are a tailgater these are not for you. EBC says they are track pads but I use them daily and love em.

The greenstuff 7000 is a low dust ceramic pad that’s great for day to day driving, with minimal towing.

The yellowstuff is a aramid and ceramic fiber brake pad that has more of a bite to it compared to the standard OEM pads, and can tow larger trailers.

The Extra duty are going to be the best if you ride the brakes hard, and is the best for towing heavier things.

PowerStop Z36 tow pads are good - used them with their drilled and slotted rotors on an old truck of mine is towing a 7000lb travel trailer. Lots of bite, just need to break them in properly.

Check on hawk performance.

Is your trailer brakes operational, seems like alot of wear.

I have had the EBC greenstuff HD for the past 25k miles and they are awesome pertaining to performance. Downside, bad brake dust. I wont be using them again only bc of that issue, going to be looking at a ceramic

I really liked the OEX on my 1500 they stop nice and low dust. They wore out pretty quick though and I am not sure if it was because I have drilled and slotted rotors or just the way they are. My next set I am doing these ---> Brembo P18013N Front Disc Brake Pad https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00L7TLHW8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jrHRzbRZBJRVK

I towed a lot on the factory set and got to around 95k before I had to replace. This times I think it was around 50k and I am to 20% so will be doing soon.
