I am considering a camper shell for my '15 2500 CC. I am torn between the ARE Z series and the Leer 100XL. Just wanted to see more pics to help me make up my mind. Does anyone have any pics of theirs that you can share?? I figured quality wise, it looks like the ARE is a tad bit better quality but still Leer aint that bad either! If any of you could help me out it would be very well appreciated!!

ARE Z-series, 1500 Sport QC not 2500 but tight with carpeted headliner on a 6'4" box. The sliding and fold down front windows are options.

The option I like the most is the locking rear door on the cap. When the truck doors lock the cap and tailgate lock, same with unlocking but get the sliding/fold down front window if you can swing it. Easy to clean the truck and cap window. Glass windows all around with the side windows swinging out in the rear.

Leer 100xl. Not a 2500 but a crew cab and a 6 and a half foot bed, so the same body as a 2500.

Speaking about the locking mechanism on the two choices. I have the fiberglass tonneau cover on my 2500. It is a Leer Model. I also looked at the ARE tonneau covers too. Each brand was nicely build and looked great. Each brand had some features than the other. I decided the keyless lock/unlock of the Lear was much better than the others. THe ARE required a seperate FOB while the Leer was integrated into my Ram FOB and would lock/unlock with it.

FInd the feature that is most important to you and see what brand has the feature the best.

I have a SnugTop shell. I like the integrated locks; I took apart the truck's loom and soldered in all of the wiring. I'd rather have sliding windows for their utility but the sport top looks more integrated with the truck's lines. SnugTop rear windows are by far the best, LEER second.

I'll agree that they are all nice caps but to clarify on the ARE cap lock, I just tied the two wires from the ARE lock into my tailgate lock wires and both actuate when the truck locks. No FOB required.

ARE. I have two Leers on other trucks and a 3rd Leer on my F250 I traded in for my Ram......quality of the ARE is noticeably different.

Another vote for ARE, not a crew but close. I have the MX series with interior LED lights and carpeted, tilting/sliding front window, and "outdoors mans" side window/doors. Lights are super bright and very useful at night or when camping in the back and the carpet matches my BedRug perfectly.

Very functional and has held up well the last two years.

Ranch echo here, low option cap and a used price to match. Sliding sides and front window and a led interior light.

It gets tons of comments. I can't go hardly anywhere without a question about it. Little kids love it.

I started with an ARE and ended up taking it back due to quality issues. They offered to "fix" the issues but I refused to accept paying top dollar for a repaired cap.

Went with a leer 100xl and I am much happier with it. I also believe it matches the lines of the truck better.

Leer 100XL. Wanted the Thule racks for my canoe, so I went with the "adventure pack" or something like that, which threw in the carpeted interior, front & rear LED's, and a webbing on the ceiling for hanging items (fishing rods, etc). Also has drop front window, lock actuator, and power outlet. Looked at ARE--was a toss up. My dealer offered both and suggested the Leer. First shell, so I have no basis to compare, but I'm happy with it.
